It’s funny how all things just happen the way it’s suppose to happen. I am amazed at how everything unravelled for us. Sure, moving is a stressful time. There is so much work which involves decluttering, painting, living in a staged home, dealing with the stresses of wondering if your house will sell for what you want and having to buy the right home. Ed and Rachelle were there for us every step of the way and assured us that everything will work itself out. We ended up setting a record for one of the fastest transactions for selling and buying a home with them. We ended up selling our house for more than we wanted which put us in a good position to purchase another home. Our goal was to lower our mortgage and we realized that we may have to downsize in order for that to happen. After checking out 4 houses in 1 day and not feeling that any of them were the right one we fell in love with the 5th and final house. We just had that feeling that upon entering that house this was the place for us. We learned earlier that the sellers were not happy with any offers they received on their offer date so they changed their asking price. Luckily we were able to match that offer and come to an agreement. We are now neighbours with Rachelle and heading to the next Get On Up party with these two. By the way, funny story. The first time we actually met Ed in person was at the Get On Up party in May of 2023 and he was already representing us. This was a sign that Ed and Rachelle were meant to represent us. Anyways, we ended up cutting our mortgage in half without downsizing too much. We went from a double car garage to a single car garage, kept 4 rooms, gained a fully completed basement, achieved more privacy as there is no one behind us and more importantly loving our new home. The Details:
They were both such a breath of fresh air when it came to the real estate industry. We were in a situation where we were doing most of the work: searching for homes on our own, calling listing agents for properties ourselves. It was a horrible experience; it was daunting, stressful, and took up all of our time. Rachelle was one of the listing agents I had called. It honestly felt like the universe had pushed us together because she was the only listing agent I called that called me back.

I explained what was happening and she respectfully explained to me what the process should look like. She invited us to have a zoom meeting with her and Ed that same day just to explain to us the details of the home buying process, what to expect from an agent, etc.

We met with them that same night over zoom. They gave us a presentation about the home buying process, what to expect, if we should look for pre-construction or resale based on the market; all things we either didn’t know or that we had to research on our own as our previous realtor was not telling us any of it. They reiterated that there was no pressure to sign with them or anything- a sentiment that stayed true the ~4 months that they worked with us before we put in any offers/signed.

When things naturally ended with our old realtor they took us out to see places. It was genuinely a fun experience; Ed and Rachelle felt like friends. Ed and Rachel helped us with buying and selling our home. They are very professional despite knowing them for a long time. They helped us get a good deal in a hot market with their excellent negotiating skills. They were faced with a challenge in selling our home due to our location (most homes were not selling our took longer on the market), they, however closed the deal after just over a week on the market. A couple houses listed before we did and we ended up selling our home before they did!! They really took the time to make sure everything was to our standards and we were happy. Rachel & Ed and Team are very professional and personable and they work with you to be in the best position possible! When we worked with the team to sell our house, their research and expertise listing was on point. On the first AND only weekend of our open house, our street was filled with parked cars and it even looked like a block party on that same Sunday when we were taking offers! After 16 competing offers, for a single family detached home backing a ravine, we didn't expect to get what we expected. Our final offer was over 17%! (I gave a % to disclose our valuation, but 17% will get you close to over 150k asking for a detached in Brampton, possibly more!). They literally brought up the value of our former neighbourhood.
